Hello families and friends,

Today we started off our day by writing about our long weekend.  The students picked two things that they did to share.  Ask your child what they wrote about.  Then we started work on the Making 10 strategy in math, and learned how to use and draw 10-frames.  After that we practiced our read to self skills.  Our record so far is 18 minutes!

In the afternoon, we started with our last class of Inline Skating.  Ask your child what they learned today.  Then we did our words of the week.  Our words for this week are "it", "of", "be", and "if" for grade ones, and "her", "friend", "your", and "his" for grade twos.  The students needed to practice writing the word, then come up with two sentences (grade ones) or four sentences (grade twos) that use one or more of those words.  Then the students continued work on finishing up their Important Thing About Me writing.  We finished the day with music.

Tomorrow we will be going to the Learning Commons.  Please help your child to remember to bring back their book(s).
