April 5th, 2017

Hello families and friends,

We have been working on getting back into our routines, practicing our Read to Self and Read to Someone skills.  In writing workshop, we have been learning about how to write a good beginning to a story through reading a few stories with different types of introductions.  We learned that they introduce our main character, our setting, and set up for the problem.  Then we started using this to write the introduction to the story we will be writing about us and our creatures that we created before the break.  In math, we started looking at data collecting and learned more about our classmates to practice collecting and recording information.  We have also started making our own temperature graphs for April.  This afternoon, we met up with our grade 3 buddies in Mrs. Sloane's class to start some animal research.  We will be continuing this each day over the next few weeks.

Have a great evening,
Mr. Soulliere
