April 18th, 2017

Hello families and friends,

We started off our week by doing some writing about what we did over the long weekend.  Then the students had an opportunity to share what they had written and practice giving some feedback.  After that we joined Ms. Thomas' class for music to practice our assembly songs.  We finished our morning with our words of the week.  They are "vein", "blade", "midrib", "stem", and "chlorophyll" for all students.  In the comments below, post a sentence about how one of these words relates to a leaf.  In the afternoon we went to music again, then joined our buddies in Mrs. Sloane's class to work on our animal research.  Ask your child what they have learned about their animal.  Then we did some reading before going to gym to practice our dance performance.

Tomorrow afternoon, from 2:10-2:45, our class will be performing the dance we have been working on with Mrs. Redwood and Mrs. Stols' classes.  Parents are welcome to come and watch this.  No tickets are required.

Tomorrow is also Picture Day, and Fun Lunch.

On Monday, May 1st, we will be hosting the Music Monday assembly with Mrs. Sloane and Ms. Thomas' classes.  We will performing this year's Music Monday song, Sing It Together, as well as ISSWe Are OneTomorrow Is Coming, and Our Song.  Any practice that you can help your child with at home would be much appreciated!  Part of Music Monday is a reminder of the importance of music, and having music in our schools.  Please talk with your child about why music is important for them.

A reminder that Scholastic Book Orders are due next Tuesday, April 25th.

Have a great afternoon,
Mr. Soulliere
